Incantation bowls were commonly used in 6th and 7th century Mesopotamia to protect families and individuals against demons, misfortune, and sorrow. In a ritual act, ordinary ceramic bowls were inscribed with a prayer, spiraling inwards, thereby trapping the "demon" inside the bowl. a bowl another and another is a contemporary interpretation of this ritual act, consisting of 53 ceramic bowls inscribed by hand, one for every week of the year 2020. Each bowl reflects, captures, and expels the personal anxieties, demons, and emotions of the artist during Corona.
